Invitation to Catherine of Siena Study Group
Initiative of Sisters: Catharina Al (Dominican Sisters of the Holy Family,Nijmegen, Holland,) Katarina Gustavsson, (Dominican Nuns, Lunden Kloster, Oslo, Norway) and Anne-Bente Hadland (Sta. Katarinahjemmet, Oslo, Norway).
We warmly invite you to join a study group dedicated to the texts of Saint Catherine of Siena. Designed for English-speaking Dominican sisters and nuns, these sessions offer a welcoming space for careful reading, thoughtful discussion, and shared reflection. Together, we hope to engage Catherine’s writings with both scholarly attentiveness and spiritual openness.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to stimulate mutual learning and to share knowledge of current developments in Catherine of Siena scholarship through regular Zoom meetings. Each gathering will combine close engagement with primary texts and conversation that supports one another’s study and formation.

- Topic: Freedom and Self-Knowledge in Saint Catherine of Siena
Father Paul Murray brings long experience in Dominican preaching and theological reflection, with a particular interest in the spiritual and intellectual tradition of the Order. In this session, he will help us approach Catherine’s teaching with clarity, depth, and practical insight for prayer and study.

This study group is especially intended for English-speaking Dominican sisters and nuns who wish to deepen their understanding of Saint Catherine’s writings and to engage them in conversation with others committed to serious study.
