Creation of the Dominican Sisters Association

On this feast of Saint Dominic, the world celebrates a milestone years in the making – the Dominican Sisters Association has been officially established and canonically approved by the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.

In a groundbreaking step, five Dominican congregations from the northeastern United States:
Sisters of St. Dominic, Congregation of the Holy Cross, Amityville, NY
Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt, NY
Sisters of St. Dominic, American Congregation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Caldwell, NJ
Dominican Sisters of Hope, Ossining, NY
Dominican Congregation of Our Lady of the Rosary, Sparkill, NY

have embraced a new model of shared governance – uniting to strengthen their mission, share resources, and carry forward the Dominican charism for generations to come.

Since 2019, these congregations have journeyed together in prayer, discernment, and collaboration, seeking the best way to sustain their life and mission into the future.
