Pope Leo’s first Apostolic Exhortation: Dilexi te

Today, October 9, 2025, Pope Leo XIV released his first Apostolic Exhortation: Dilexi te (“I have loved you” – Rev 3:9).

In the newly published document, the Pope calls us to see the love of Christ alive in love for the poor – in caring for the sick, opposing slavery, defending women from exclusion and violence, ensuring education for all, welcoming migrants, giving generously, and working for equality.

Spread across 121 paragraphs and five chapters, Dilexi te flows from the Gospel of Christ, who became poor for our sake, and renews the Church’s social teaching as a “treasury of significant insights” on serving the poor.

The full document is already available in many languages.
