1st Conference Transitioning Away From Fossil Fuels
April 24-29th Colombia and the Netherlands will host the “First Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels” in Santa Marta, Columbia, April 24-29th.
The Conference is designed as a space for countries, subnational governments and other stakeholders that recognize the need to implement a transition away from fossil fuels in a just, orderly and equitable manner, in line with climate goals and the best available science. Participant will begin drafting a global “roadmap” to phase out fossil fuels. Approximately 50 Countries are participating in the Conference.

Conference is divided into three parts.
Part 1: Indigenous Women stakeholders,
Part 2: speakers who are formal advocates related to the phase out of fossil fuels,
and Part 3: governmental leaders who support the phase out of fossil fuels.
After the Conference
Mid May, DSIC will have a zoom gathering as a follow up to the First Fossil Fuel Phase Out Conference featuring Rohan Dominic, Coordinator for the Claretian team at the United Nations in New York, and Lisa Sullivan Integral Ecology Senior Program Officer for Maryknoll.
