A Glimmer of Hope for the Dominican Family Venezuela
Thanks to the DSI Solidarity Fund, DSI was able to respond to the desperate situations in Argentina, Brazil, Peru, and Venezuela, where people are struggling to survive in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Regarding Venezuela, Sr. Pilar del Barrio, DSI’s Continental Coordinator for Europe, coordinated the effort to send parcels of food and medicine to various members of the Dominican Family in Venezuela. We have recently received word that the parcels have arrived!
One of the members of the Justice & Peace Commission of the Dominican Family in Venezuela expressed his gratitude:
“The experience of receiving and being able to distribute this help, generated within me (and I believe in each one of us) the joy of brotherhood/sisterhood; of hope and strength to continue doing the good and to look for spaces of democracy and freedom. The hard truth is the deteriorating situation in the quality of life; the hunger, and the vulnerability in health care for most of the population. Thank you for your prayers and gestures that enliven our hope. Thank you for helping us to do this beautiful work of Dominican family. You gave us joy, and we have welcomed this joy and have offered it to others; to those most in need. Thank you very much! May God reward you!”
