Dominican Month for Peace 2025 to Focus on Cameroon

Each year, from the first Sunday of Advent until the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, the Dominican Family celebrates the Dominican Month for Peace, a time of prayer and commitment focused on a country in need of peace and reconciliation.

In 2025, attention will turn to Cameroon, under the theme: “Truth and Justice for Lasting Peace”. During this period, Dominican communities are invited to organize pastoral activities, promote initiatives of solidarity, and offer prayers for this African country.

On this occasion, the Master of the Order writes a letter to the entire Dominican Family, offering guidance on how to live this special time. In addition, the official website of the Order (www.op.org) provides a variety of resources—logos, homilies, articles, and downloadable materials—that communities can adapt to their local context. Experiences and pastoral initiatives related to peace are also welcomed and may be shared by writing to contacto@curia.op.org.

In recent years, the Dominican Month for Peace has focused on different realities: Haiti (2024), the Amazon (2023)Myanmar (2022)Venezuela (2021)Ukraine (2020)India (2019), the Democratic Republic of Congo (2018), and Colombia (2017).
